PROBLEM:
Facebook/Meta wanted to convince the European parliament of the need to sign a new US-EU data transfer agreement. Without this new agreement Facebook would be forced to leave the EU.
SOLUTION:
The key was by convincing policymakers that Facebook’s platforms (Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram) bring real value to the lives of ordinary Europeans. So we created a campaign that told true stories of the amazing things European people were already achieving through our platforms. This campaign had huge media spend and went live across Europe in both traditional and social media.
RESULTS:
The campaign saw message recall and brand lift which exceeded targets amongst our key demographics. Shortly afterwards the EU made a new data transfer agreement protecting Meta’s ability to operate in Europe.
ASSETS:
In-feed and pre-roll videos with 20” and 10” versions featured real business owners and group members.
360 in feed videos told stories in explorable immersive ways using 360 sound design.
