Facebook App: Women’s History Month
To celebrate Women’s History Month Facebook wanted to create a Social only campaign showcasing all the great women-focused Facebook Groups doing amazing things in the fight for equality. Our campaign focused on the fact that whatever you want to achieve, there’s a Facebook Group “On It”, ready to support you and inspire you every day. We created a suite of assets including a Facebook UK Account cover image, films and static posts and reached people through Social on the UK Facebook App’s Facebook Page and in paid for ad posts on the platform.

We were keen to work with a team of women to create the campaign assets. Our films were shot by a wonderful Director named Emily Freda Sharp and her on-set crew was almost all female as were her animator and editor.
We also launched with an animation made by Aurelia Durand and our art director Emma. Post copy read:

Static posts and Calendar Dates
Statics each focused on a different Women’s Facebook Group and incorporated key calendar dates such as World Book Day, World Poetry Day and Mother’s Day.
International Women’s Day film.
On International Women’s Day we assembled an almost all female crew to produce a 30s film and 3 cut downs. The films celebrated three amazing women’s Facebook Groups doing things to further the cause of women’s equality and pointing towards the many more awaiting your join.

RESULTS
The film increased Group joins for featured Groups. For example the Facebook Group admin of Pachamama Project was super happy with the positive effect the campaign had on her and her project. Group members went up from 180 to almost 500 which meant a massive increase in sustainable sanitary towel production helping more women escape period poverty.
